Solicitor Tutor

Teesside University are seeking up to four Solicitor Tutors to work in their School of Social Sciences, Humanities & Law. This is a part time, permanent role involving working half a day a week.

Working with the Head of Clinical Legal Education the Solicitor Tutor(s) will provide student supervision to student firms in legal area relevant to the needs of the clinic which currently includes Civil Litigation, Employment, Welfare & Benefit, Landlord and Tenant, and Family. The successful candidate will be an ambassador of the Teesside Law Clinic and be instrumental in developing external network opportunities for students to engage with external stakeholders.

The successful candidate must be a qualified, practising solicitor with a current practicing certificate and must hold a First Degree in a relevant Discipline/equivalent professional qualification or demonstrate significant practical work experience in a related discipline. Previous teaching/supervisor experience in Higher Education or equivalent experience in Legal Practice is essential as well as the ability to provide practice support by undertaking research in connection with client matters being dealt with by Teesside Law Clinic Students.
