Jacksons have a new opportunity for a motivated and experienced Fee Earner to join its Residential department. Based at the Jacksons' newly renovated open-plan Newcastle office, the successful candidate will be joining the firm's largest department made up of 34 colleagues, who work across its two office sites. Jacksons' Residential department has an excellent reputation and prides itself upon its ability to deliver a first-class service to clients.

The duties will be varied and will include:

  • Managing a mixed case load of sale, purchase and Buy to Let residential properties,leasehold matters, help and right to buy schemes, new build property purchase and sales, mortgages/re-mortgages, shared ownership and affordable housing, and transfer of equity.
  • Providing effective communication and excellent customer care to clients at each stage of their journey.
  • Taking an active role in business development, to support building professional relationships and growing the company's client base.

About You

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • A minimum 2 years’ experience in a fee earning role. Whilst ideally candidates will be a qualified Solicitor / Legal Executive /Licenced Conveyancer, Jacksons will consider non-qualified candidates who meet the experience requirements.
  • Prior experience of managing a busy and varied residential property caseload.
  • Knowledge of the legal aspects of residential transactions, including Freehold and Leasehold, new build transactions including reviewing TP1s, and using the Land Registry Portal and lender portals would be advantageous.
  • Commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to travel to the firm’s Stockton-on-Tees office on an occasional basis, in line with the needs of the business.
