COVID-19 has created uncertainty over whether statutory declarations in insolvency proceedings can still safely be made and administered in person and whether, as an alternative, the process could validly be completed remotely using real-time video conference technology. In order to address this issue, the Law Society, with the support of Lexis Nexis, has developed a protocol for virtual staturoty declarations relevant for insolveny proceedings.
