Membership of Tees Valley Law Society offers opportunities whether you are a qualified solicitor or other legal professional, or you are in the early stages of training.

Unfair Leasehold Practices Consultation

We reported last week that the Law Society welcomed news that the government was to consult on tacking unfair leasehold practices; that consultation is now open, and can be viewed here.

The consultation seeks views on prohibiting the sale of new build leasehold houses, limiting ground rents and protecting leaseholders from possession orders.

The Law Society is encouraging members to contribute their views to the consultation. The deadline for responses is 19th September.
