TVLS Welcomes New District Judge

TVLS is pleased to welcome District Judge Clare Davies to the North Eastern Circuit following her swearing in at a ceremony held at Teesside Combined Court Centre on Wednesday (3 October), which was attended by TVLS president Chris Noon.

Although originally from the Lancashire area, DJ Davies has lived, studied and worked in the North East since 1990. Having completed her CPE (obtained with commendation) at the University of Northumbria, and completed her training at Ben Hoare Bell LLP in Sunderland, she was admitted as a solicitor in 1994. She was retained by Ben Hoare Bell, and steadily moved up through the ranks to the position of Finance Manager in 2013, a role she occupied until 2016.

Ms Davies judicial career began in 2010 when she was appointed Assistant Coroner for the City of Sunderland, a position she held until July 2018. In 2013 she was also appointed as a first tier Tribunal Judge, sitting across the whole North-East region, and this in turn lead to her appointment as a Deputy District Judge in 2016.
