SRA Consultations
The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) published recently two consultations as part of its 'Looking to the Future' theme:
- a second consultation on its ongoing Handbook reform 'Looking to the future: phase two of our Handbook reform'
- a separate consultation on price and service transparency 'Looking to the Future: better information, more choice'
The consultations propose far-reaching changes to the way solicitors and firms currently practise. There are concerns about the impact of the proposals on both the profession and clients and, as the representative body for the solicitors' profession, the Law Society will be submitting a full and evidence-based response to both consultations. They will share their response with members ahead of the consultation deadline. The Society's proposals can be viewed here.
The deadline for responses to both consultations is 20 December 2017
