Membership of Tees Valley Law Society offers opportunities whether you are a qualified solicitor or other legal professional, or you are in the early stages of training.

Sentencing for Breach Offences Draft Guideline Consultation

The Law Society has responded to the Sentencing Council’s consultation about its draft guideline for sentencing for breach offences.

The guideline will assist sentencers and practitioners in dealing with offenders who breach community orders by failing to comply with requirements, breach suspended sentence orders, fail to surrender to bail, and several other orders.

The Society’s response welcomed the guideline, which will improve consistency when courts sentence for these offences.
