Membership of Tees Valley Law Society offers opportunities whether you are a qualified solicitor or other legal professional, or you are in the early stages of training.

Members are offered discounted rates for all of our training events, which are held locally and at the end of the working day to ensure the least disruption to you, your firm and your clients. We hold regular networking and social events where members can come together informally to discuss issues within the profession, but more importantly to share ideas.

Response To The Sentencing Code Consultation

The Law Society of England and Wales has responded positively to the Law Commission's consultation on its draft Sentencing Code for England and Wales.

The Society states that the new Code will bring clarity to the law governing the sentencing process [and] will improve the efficiency of the criminal courts. The Society also believes the Code will bring about savings in time and money for all involved in the criminal courts, not least those of our members who practice in this area of law.
