Membership of Tees Valley Law Society offers opportunities whether you are a qualified solicitor or other legal professional, or you are in the early stages of training.

Price Transparency - Guidance And Advice

In June of this year, the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) announced new rules that would obligate solicitors and firms to publish their pricing and service details in order to provide transparency for customers. Those rules were approved by the Legal Services Board (LSB) in August, and come into force on 6 December 2018.

The new rules have been criticised as being opaque by some, and concerns have been raised that compliance may be particulalry onerous for small firms and sole practitioners.

The Law Society has published helpful guidance on the new transparency rules in the form of a Practice Note, which can be viewed here. The SRA has also published its own guidance.
