Membership of Tees Valley Law Society offers opportunities whether you are a qualified solicitor or other legal professional, or you are in the early stages of training.

Members are offered discounted rates for all of our training events, which are held locally and at the end of the working day to ensure the least disruption to you, your firm and your clients. We hold regular networking and social events where members can come together informally to discuss issues within the profession, but more importantly to share ideas.

Membership of TVLS is about offering support whether formally through involvement of the Council or more informally by sharing ideas about best practice with other firms. Legal Sector Worth £26bn to Economy

A recent survey has revealed that the legal sector contributes a phenomenal £26 billion to the UK economy.

The survey, the first ever review of the legal sector also revealed that the sector boosts investment and jobs, and solicitors and employees of solicitor firms make up 63 per cent of the legal sector. Some more key highlights are:

  • For every 100 extra jobs in legal services it supports a further 67 jobs
  • Growth in the legal services sector has averaged 3.3 per cent every year for the last decade - outstripping UK economic growth rate of 1.2 per cent elsewhere
  • Net exports of legal services have grown by an average of 5.6 per cent per annum over the last 10 years, to £3.6 billion.
