Legal Ombudsman's Business Plan Consultation
The Legal Ombudsman recently invited comments on its proposed business plan and budget for 2018/19; the Ombudsman's budget is generated from practising certificate fees.
The Law Society's response to the consultation notes that costs are budgeted to rise and that there is a back-log of cases. They also would like the proposals to show more detail about how the ombudsman will manage to reduce the average cost of dealing with a complaint, and stress that should be an efficient and effective complaints handling process with a strong focus on achieving high quality investigations and decisions.
