Law Society Writes To PM Over Brexit Concerns
The Law Society of England and Wales last week joined with several leading firms and other professional and business services providers to write to the Prime Minister. The letter highlighted concerns that legal and other services were not getting sufficient attention in the Brexit negotiations, and that the professional and business services sector makes a significant contribution to both UK and EU economies.
The Society also worked to secure coverage of the letter in the Financial Times, the Today Programme, and the BBC News website. The letter was also sent to all Cabinet members ahead of last Friday's Chequers meeting, and to a number of senior parliamentarians. The letter was welcomed by DExEU Minister Robin Walker MP in a speech last Tuesday.
