Membership of Tees Valley Law Society offers opportunities whether you are a qualified solicitor or other legal professional, or you are in the early stages of training.

Members are offered discounted rates for all of our training events, which are held locally and at the end of the working day to ensure the least disruption to you, your firm and your clients. We hold regular networking and social events where members can come together informally to discuss issues within the profession, but more importantly to share ideas.

Membership of TVLS is about offering support whether formally through involvement of the Council or more informally by sharing ideas about best practice with other firms. Early Advice: Write To Lord Chancellor

As part of their ongoing campaign for legal aid to be re-introduced for early legal advice, the Law Society has created an online submission form to assist in writing to the Lord Chancellor. So far over 100 people have made use of the submission form in support of the early advice campaign. (Note that this is a different action to the one that focussed on writing to local MPs, which is now closed and had 567 participants).

Research conducted for the Law Society by Ipsos MORI shows a clear statistical link between getting early legal advice and resolving a problem sooner.

It takes just two minutes to use the online submission form to write to the Lord Chancellor to urge him to reintroduce legal aid for early advice.
