Diversity and Inclusion Charter 2017 Submission Deadline
The Diversity and Inclusion Charter was established in 2009 by the Law Society, BT and the Society of Asian Lawyers. The aim of the Charter is to help firms and practices turn their commitment to diversity and inclusion in to positive, practical action for their businesses, staff and clients.
The window for the 2017 submission opened in May and the 14 July deadline to submit your firm’s return is fast-approaching. This is your opportunity to help the Law Society shape the future of the profession, and they need your input and case studies, so be sure to beat the 14 July deadline.

Firm diversity data
The Law Society has confirmed that...:
- Firms do not need to provide their firm’s diversity data to the Law Society as part of the Diversity and Inclusion Charter reporting - the information you enter about the make up of your firm, when you access the reporting tool, is used to ensure you complete the correct questionnaire for the Charter.
- Firm diversity data is being collected by the SRA in the week commencing 17 July 2017
The Law Society therefore requires firms to provide written consent for the SRA to pass your data to the Law Society as part of the Charter submission and reporting process. To confirm your consent please email the D&I Charter team at inclusioncharter@LawSociety.org.uk.
