Details On Electronic Filing At Newcastle BPC
The Business and Property Courts (BPC) in Newcastle provide an umberella covering those parts of the High Court comprising the Chancery Division, the Circuit Commercial Court and the Technology and Construction Court.
As from 25 February, parties have been able to issue new proceedings electronically using CE-Filing, an electronic system that replaces the paper file that used to constitute the court file for cases. From 30 April 2019, use of CE-Filing will be mandatory for professional court users issuing proceedings in the BPC.
To help prepare professional court users for this change, the Justice Department has issued Practice Direction PD510 detailing the changes and requirements. HHJ Kramer has also provided further guidance on the subject, which can be downloaded here.
