I would just like to thank everyone who attended the annual Law Society dinner this year at Jury’s Inn. I would especially like to thank Nicola Neilson who every year organises this event and without whose support and commitment it just wouldn’t happen. I’d also like to thank Katie and Helen who helped Nicola, ensuring the tickets were booked and paid for.

This year we were sponsored by NWG Property Solutions and Catax. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting between Tonia and Lawrence who calmed this nervous president down! Thank you for your support and I hope you too enjoyed the evening.

Thank you to our toasters, Helen and Rob. By the time of the toasts the diners were very well lubricated, and it was not easy gaining their attention, but you both did brilliantly. I’d also like to thank my other top table guests for attending; I believe that this was the last event for George Tilley to attend as President of Sunderland Law Society and I would like to thank him for the support he has given me throughout my presidency. It was also great to meet Chris Hugill as the new president of Newcastle Law Society and I hope you too have a brilliant presidency.

Finally thank you to all those who entered the raffle and won some excellent prizes generously denoted by NWG Property Solutions, Jury’s Inn, Erimus Insurance Brokers, Eventus Legal and Nandos. Through all of your generous donations we raised £1,210 for the Alzheimer’s Society.

I had an excellent evening and I hope those who attended also enjoyed themselves. Hopefully next year will be even bigger and better and I hope to see you there.
