JLD At TVLS' AGM - 20 June 2019
We attended the Tees Valley Law Society (TVLS) AGM which took place on 20 June 2019 at Archers Law. The AGM takes place once a year and members of any Law Society are welcome to attend.
Members of the Council were welcomed by the now former TVLS President, Chris Noon.
At the AGM nominations were made for Council vacancies, and members were elected to their new roles. The Council members declared that Dermot Winters, partner at BHP Law, would take office as President of the Tees Valley Law Society for the coming year.
Other business matters were discussed at the AGM, including the accountants’ report for the year to date.
Members were delighted to find out over £1,200 was raised for the Alzheimer’s Society at this years’ TVLS Annual Dinner, which was a fantastic result. Dan Nelson, Community Fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Society, gave a talk at the AGM about the impact of Alzheimer's on those living with dementia, and on their carers, and explained how the Alzheimer's Society supports those who are affected.
There was a wide spread of refreshments at the AGM, including sandwiches and hot and cold drinks and members enjoyed the opportunity to speak to fellow members of TVLS.
